Beautiful rare Precious Embroidered Hermes Silk Shawl “Les Leopards Oiseaux Fleuris” by Christiane Vauzelles.

The background colours are white, black with red, green, orange embroidered birds and flowers.

There are no pulls, stains, discolouration, holes or snags.
The hemps are plump. There is no S stamp.
On an immaculate piece of white silk twill, the
work of hand-embroidering the Les Léopards
design in chain stitch begins.
The feline creatures are then lifted from the
surface of the silk with an embroidery of matt
and shiny glass beads, to be adorned with
tropical flowers, fruits and birds, embroidered in
silk thread or as silk appliqués.
Stitched on by hand, one by one, the appliqué
petals of these exotic blooms are cut out in
advance from coloured silk twill, creating an
exuberant ensemble with a remarkable textured
relief.
