The story behind
The Calanques are a natural wonder. These rocky inlets are nestled between dazzling white limestone cliffs, the sheer drop to the Mediterranean Sea below frames the water in a glittering display. A string of these rocky inlets can be found along the coastline between Cassis and Marseille in the Calanques National Park in the South of France. The climate is dry, but the sea is surprisingly cold due to underground springs that flow into it. Aline Honoré named this scarf in honor of Calanque En-Vau, which is her definition of Paradise on Earth. She creates a portrait of hidden, untamed nature: sinuous Aleppo pines clinging to jagged rocks. The sea, rich with a thousand treasures, has scattered offerings of shells, gorgonia, coral, starfish and anemones around the edges of the scarf.
