The pattern pays direct homage to the Cadre Noir de Saumur, the historic and prestigious French military riding school founded in the 19th century.
While it looks like a complex, abstract geometric rosette from afar, a closer look reveals an intricate arrangement of authentic French horse tack, including:

- Riding crops wrapped with gold rings
